World War Z utilized many forms of social media for advertising. For instance thrilling clips of zombies were plastered all over twitter an Instagram with the option to share with friends. Interactive posts were also used for advertising. The creators of World War Z asked for audience response an engagement to questions such as "What would your weapon of choice be during a global epidemic?" . People were encouraged to respond and ask their friends creating a bigger buzz for the movie Additionally, World War Z offered an option where tickets could be purchased online directly through Facebook.

Trailers for World War Z were targeted towards two vastly different demographics. The first was those who enjoy horror films. The use of zombie jump scares and fast paced action in the trailers for World war Z was enticing for these viewers and a way to rope them in. The second demographic was those who enjoy heart throb actors such a Brad Pitt. The trailers featured Brad Pitt heroic actions against the zombies and his flowing golden locks.
-Posters
Posters for World War Z were meant to provoke fear in viewers. They depicted scenes where Brad Pitt along with the three other main characters were largely outnumbered by zombies. Or the zombies climbing up structures and destroying them. These techniques attracted the horror audiences as they are terrifying to view.
