Shot list

      This long-shot allows us to see the  surroundings and that the runner is worried.                                                                                             

 This mid-shot allows the audience to understand that Liam is running away from something and causes them to wonder why.










This over-the-shoulder shot introduces our second runner and emphasizes the intensity of the situation.

 This two-shot shows the two runners and allows the audience to see why they are in such a hurry. It creates suspense and keeps the audience attentive.








This mid-shot shows the reaction of the hit-men and hackers when the runners barge in. It makes the audience wonder what is wrong.










This low-angle mid shot shows the first clear glimpse  of the boss, but keeps a level of mystery as it only shows the feet.

 This mid-shot shows the boss's feet again, and it pans to the boss walking into a room. This makes the audience think the boss is going into headquarters but is infact at the enemy trying to get the flash drive back.

 This low-angle close-up of the boss shows that she is dead and causes suspense when the camera falls to the close-up of just the hand.








This point-of-view shot of the door opening shows that although the boss is dead, someone is coming in. This makes the audience wonder what will happen next.

Final Day of Filming

Sunday Dec.16  

Due to unforeseen circumstances the final day of filming took place on the 16th which was later than originally planned. Devin Escobedo who was cast as the boss fell ill and did not seem like she was going to heal anytime soon. So in a last minute change, Merrill Garlington stepped in. Her non- threatening nature added to the contradictory aspects of the boss' character. We arrived at Morton's Gourmet Market at Approximately 2 pm. We began by filming the shots of the boss walking. We had not done test shots of these scenes so it was Merrill's idea to test out different camera movements. I tried panning the camera, moving it to the side, and shaking it. Ultimately panning looked the best so that is what we used when shooting the walking scene for the last time. Next we used rule of thirds when filming the shot of the elevator opening to show the crown molding an establish the boss was entering somewhere that looked similar to the conference room. After filming this we moved on the our last three shots. We filmed Merrill entering the conference room from a low-angle to keep her identity a secret and create suspense. We filmed Merrill's death by tilting the camera on its side and then dropping it, to signify her life ending. The final scene was filmed at the same angle that the scene where Merrill enters was shot this was for continuity purposes.

Third Day Of Filming

Tuesday Dec.11

 Our actors arrived at Morton's Gourmet Market at 2:50 pm but filming didn't commence until around 3:30 pm.  This was due to the fact that Merrill and I had to cover up the windows inside of the conference room. As always, I shot all of the scenes and directed the actors. We filmed the first scene from two different perspectives so that we could have an insert shot of Lissi talking to Mary-Margaret Andrew and Colton. We then filmed a close-up shot to create tension in the scene as well as to illustrate the emotions of the hackers/bodyguards after learning the boss died. We filmed our second scene from a canted angle to show tension (not pictured)This day of filming went smoothly and ended at 6 pm. With all of these scenes shot the actors for this portion of the film were no longer needed. The remaining scenes are purely of the boss and will be shot on schedule.

Second day of filming

Monday Dec.10 

We began filming at 2:50 pm, the amount of time it took our actors to get to location after school ended at 2:15. We were missing a few of our actors that play the hit men,  so we focused on close- ups and mid-shots of the actors that were present. We filmed a large portion of the conference scenes with Mary-Margaret Steber and Andrew Sapienza. Unfortunately, we had to leave at 4:00 pm due to a prior engagement. We returned to filming at 5:30 pm, which was ideal because we wanted our establishing shots to take place at dusk. We took several long shots, mid-shots, and establishing shots of Liam B. (a runner) to choose from. We also experimented with rule of thirds and low and high angle shots. We then moved to the corridor scenes which took place in the stairwell. These scenes tool several takes because our actors were having difficulty.

First Day of Filming

Wed Dec.5

Merrill and I arrived on location (Morton's Gourmet Market) at 4:00 pm sharp. We walked through all of the shots with our actors before we began to film. Filming began promptly at 4:25. We first tested for sound in two perspective conference rooms in the building. The first was very upscale and relatively large. We were worried about issues with sound due to the echo, but they proved insignificant as the test shot sounded great. Although the first conference room was very pleasing to the eye it didn't match our dark and mysterious aesthetic. We moved to the second conference room,a darker smaller room. The sound tests went well and we decided to choose this conference room because we knew it would work well with our dark theme. Next we did test shots of our running scenes. As the camera person I experimented with the tripod and steady cam when filming the running scenes. We decided that the steady cam yielded the best results.  We shot running scenes in both the warehouse and on the roof.  Overall, the first day of filming went well. We also decided that I would be in charge of all filming since Merrill would be responsible for a large portion of the editing.

Final Casting Last

Runners

We wanted our runners to be younger looking and less intimidating. We viewed them as not a full member of the group yet, like they were being tested. We picture our runners as thin and able to look nervous without being scared.

     Liam B and Lissi Strom were selected for these roles based on previous acting experiences and    appearance.

Hacker

We planned on having two hackers, but one cancelled last minute. We wanted our hackers to be gentle and intelligent (as opposed to nerdy) but still a level of threatening. 

     Mary Margaret was selected for this role, as she could deliver the lines sternly and with the                 emotion needed for the scene. 

Hit-men

We wanted our hitmen to be strong and threatening, larger people with preferably dark hair.

     Andrew Sapienza and Colton Root were selected for these roles as they have played threatening           characters before and are also tall and built.

The Boss

We originally planned for the boss to be an 11 year old but with circumstance and judgment we decided to use one of our directors, Merrill Garlington.

     Merrill Garlington was selected for this role due to her long legs and availability. Because she is small and not what the usual boss would look like, it leaves the audience with many questions

Story Board

Final Script

Synopsis: Something goes wrong in a crime ring’s deliveries and their merchandise is in the

hands of their enemies. The upper level members of the ring are not worried as they have faith in

their mysteries boss. All they know about the boss is that she built the organization by herself

and is a formidable adversary. But their enemy is unlike any other they have faced before, and

they are unable to contact their boss in time.

Fade in:

Ext. Outside Warehouse - Day

One runner is running through some secluded areas and empty buildings, looks concerned.

Dissolve to:

Int. Inside Warehouse-Store Room- Day

The first runner bumps into another scared runner by stairs, runner 1 explains what’s wrong.

Runner 1

They…. they…. (deep breaths)

Runner 2

What's wrong, what happened?

Runner 1

They got away, they stole the coordinates.

Runner 2

Oh god what are we going to do

Dissolve to:

The Conference Room

The runners burst through the door

Runner 1

We didn't get to them in time

Runner 2

What do we now? Should we worry about the pickup?

Hitmen look at each other, do not seem as nervous

Hitmen 1

Don't worry the boss got it

Hitmen 2

How can you be so sure, have you ever even met her?

Hitmen 1

No (angrier) but I have this thing called trust

Hitmen 3

As long we have contact with the boss, were fine. She single-handedly built this operation from

the ground up. She can fix any problem, we should just wait until she comes back.

Hacker 1

(typing furiously on computer)

I just checked, she's still live and is on the move

Hitmen 1

See there is nothing to worry about, she'll be here soon

Runner 1

No, you don't understand, they took the flash drive, they know everything

(worried looks)

(hitmen one slams down his hand on the table)

Door open

Cut to The boss’s Heel clicks

The boss opens the door (appears to be same door)

Tentative Filming Schedule

Wednesday Dec. 5th
Begin filming, focus mainly on scenes taking place in the interior of the warehouse, possibly running scenes  
Saturday Dec. 8th and Sunday Dec. 9th
Ending scene where the boss is murdered
Monday Dec.10th and Tuesday Dec.11th
Finish filming any scenes that weren't completed on the 5th.
Friday Dec.14th
Film establishing shots of the warehouse

* Editing will begin as soon as filming starts all final editing will commence on Sunday Dec.16th*

Scouting Locations

Our plan for our locations was some sort of warehouse or garage. We wanted to be able to film the beginning shots outside, but also be able to have a nice room for the hackers and hit-men.
We had to choose between two locations, a warehouse located in Lakeland and Morton's Gourmet Market.

Lakeland Warehouse:

This option had a great outside view and was easily accessible, as it is owned by my partner's family.


Morton's Gourmet Market:










This option was not ideal for the running scenes; however, there was a roof and stairwell that could be used. We were allowed to film here because my partner and I's mutual friend owned the store.


We ended up choosing Morton's Market to film because the other option was too far away for the whole cast to go to. It ended up being the perfect location for the shots and sound quality we wanted.
